The League is delighted to fund the purchase of ultrasound equipment for the podiatry clinic at Ilkeston Community Hospital. A diagnostic ultrasound machine that gives immediate diagnosis as to required treatments without which a patient would have to be referred to one of the larger hospitals, causing delays in patient welfare. This equipment is also used to perform ultrasound-guided injections, allowing for diagnosis and treatment in the same clinic appointment. Rob Morley, Consultant Podiatrist at ICH (pictured with the League’s chair, Jill Schmidt) said that this equipment makes a tremendous difference to daily routines and patient outcomes.
